How does it work?

Each commission oil painting is created on a professional basswood 1.5”-2” cradled panel that is sealed with PVA size and primed with several coats of gesso to ensure archival quality.

Take a look at the current SIZE AND PRICE BREAKDOWN. If you have photo references or inspiration, upload the images and fill out the commission form.

I will email you shortly to chat over the phone about your artwork. This is where I can answer any questions you have and you can help me understand your vision further if necessary. You will have access to contact me anytime during the process.

Once we decide on the design and specifics of the painting, I create a personalized contract to fit your specifications and collect a 50% deposit to secure your order.

I will send you a photo of your finished artwork for any last minute additions or adjustments. Once I receive the remaining payment, the painting is delivered or shipped to you.

  • I really don't know how to express how much we LOVED Michaela's art work that we commissioned. It was a gift for my wife and the beauty of it and the subject matter brought my wife to tears. Michaela's attention to detail is incredible. The picture was a composite of three dogs at the beach. Ours, our sons and are daughter's pets. They also loved it and pointed out the little details that Michaela had picked out from the photos that others never even noticed about the dogs. When sending the proof photo Michaela sent, several people thought it was a actually a photo. Michaela is worth every penny for the beauty and memory she will create for you! Framing:

Framing is not included in the price of the commissioned painting, but I work directly with a professional framer and gallery, Chemers Gallery, who can assist with any framing needs and pricing quotes.

If you would prefer an unframed commission, I can attach a wire on the back for easy unframed hanging.

Shipping:

If the delivery is within driving range from Orange County, I may be able to personally deliver the artwork. If the painting needs to be shipped outside of Southern California, the shipping cost will be calculated prior to your final payment.

Material:

Each painting is painted with professional artist-grade oil paint on a professional basswood 1.5”-2” cradled panel that is sealed with PVA size and primed with several coats of gesso to ensure archival quality. *A retouch varnish can be applied to the surface of the finished oil painting to aid in protecting the artwork. However, additional drying time will be required for this extra layer and should be considered in your initial timeframe.
